Wow! Today was a hot one. As I sit here typing this, it still is. Today was a Christmas shopping day for me and I am just a little bit glad that it is over. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas. I just don’t like the shops at Christmas. I love walking down High St. I always have but today, with the heat, Westfield and their air conditioning were definitely calling.
So, who made my day in Penrith today? The first smile of the day was definitely brought to my face by the bus, and bus driver, who took me into the centre today. The bus was Westbus number 9585. Talk about getting into the spirit! The bus is completely decked out with colourful tinsel, even the driver had his hat festooned with the colourful foil decorations. Combined with the christmas carols on the sound systemfor the journey, boarding this bus was like stepping onto Santas sleigh! Add to that a cheery bus driver and you have a great way to start the day in the Christmas spirit.
My bus driver on the way home was another of the regular drivers in the area.Again always cheery and friendly. Unfortunately I don’t have the bus number or his name, but I will certainly have it for next time. Points to ComfortDelgro Cabcharge also for changing their bus out of service messages to “Merry Christmas from CDC”.
Other Happy Penrith businesses today included
-Gloria Jeans inside the upstairs food court at Westfield (for those old school like me, the Plaza). Even though it seemed impossible to find iced coffees down that end today, the iced chocolate was absolutely delicious and definitely served with a smile. Thanks guys!
- The lovely lady with the long red nails who served me at Big W and the lady with the gorgeous turquoise nails at Temt.
- The always fun team at The Smith Family.
And a big hiya to the team of friendly firemen responding to a call on High St today.
All in all another Happy Penrith day for me. Hope you had a great one too!
